MEGHDOOT was installed in a rural public school in Bhikiyasain, 60 km away from the closest city Almora in Uttarakhand, India. It is located 1.5 km away from the main road, and close to a jungle. It has 8 children and 2 teachers, for whom MEGHDOOT provides enough water to meet their drinking water needs. This was an initiative of Jal Sansthan, Uttarakhand's Water Board.

I am the Planet Earth. I own the most precious thing in the universe, WATER. About 70% of me is WATER. Water makes life, the essence of any living organism. I have seen the evolution of life over billions of years. Many species have come and over five billion have gone extinct, and so will the HUMANS. But how soon? It is the destiny humans are writing today. They are destroying what they need the most - WATER. I gave beautiful Rivers and lakes for them to flourish. But They are dumping poisons into it. The marine life is screaming aloud and asking why are Humans polluting the ecosystem? Why are Humans just Consumers? It’s high time they learn to be Contributors. Or their next generations will be wiped out sooner. They will suffer what their selfish ancestors have left for them. No water, no air to breathe, and no food to eat. And it will be too late to make it RIGHT. They should remember that I am not in DANGER. It is only human life that is in Danger. If there is no water, there will be no Life. I WILL MAKE A DECISION SOON because I can’t take it anymore. I HAVE TO PROTECT MILLIONS OF OTHER SPECIES AFFECTED BY HUMANS. HUMANS SHOULD THINK AND ACT NOW. They have to start protecting Nature. Stop polluting Water. They should Use sustainable alternate sources of water to preserve it for the next generations. Clean Water ensures greenery, enough oxygen, surplus food and better ecosystem. They have to Nurture nature today, for a better future. The Clock is ticking. They have to control the damage consciously, or I will fix it in a very painful manner. This is all the choice they have. SAVE WATER, SAVE HUMANS.

Do you know that WATER IS NOT INFINITE? The clock is ticking before we run out of drinking water Our planet, ‘the Blue Planet’ is 71% water, of which 97.5% is saltwater and the remaining 2.5% is freshwater. These figures, unfortunately, do not represent the availability of water to humanity. Only 1% of all available freshwater sources are accessible, which are considerably exploited. We assume water to be a renewable resource which is not the case! It is a GLOBAL PROBLEM. More than 50% of the planet's 37 largest groundwater basins are being depleted due to climate change and population growth. 844 million people across the planet lack access to a basic drinking water source, either due to decreased water availability or contamination. A warmer climate is causing more water to evaporate from water bodies, with 7% more water for every 1-degree rise in temperature. The WORLD needs- A solution that allows the environment to stay in balance. A solution that is easily accessible/can be provided to all life. A solution that impacts society for the better. Few technologies such as desalination and water recycling have addressed these needs. Desalination is a process by which dissolved salts are removed from seawater or brines water thereby converting it into potable water. Other methods such as Water recycling and Water reclamation are processes of converting waste water into water that can be reused for a wide variety of not-potable and potable uses. But both these methods use existing underground or surface water and are not sustainable solutions. We need alternate solutions for a sustainable planet. We know that water exists in three forms: solid, liquid, and gas. Solid water is ice. Liquid water is what we drink. Gaseous water, or water vapour, is in the air around us. That is 3095 cubic miles of total Atmospheric water supply. This is six times as much water vapour in the atmosphere as in all the rivers on our planet combined! This amount is recycled 40 times each year in what is known as the hydrologic cycle. So the answer to a sustainable water source is Atmospheric water.
